Visual Identity

Openart is an art biennial for public art in Örebro, Sweden. Sakaria Studio was asked to re-design the biennial’s old identity, but with the old logotype maintained. Featuring a rabbit’s footprint, the old logotype was hard to read and difficult to elaborate. Our solution was to re-purpose the logotype as an imprint rather than a shape in order to communicate how an art experience leaves you with an impression. The result shows the logotype scaled up beyond the borders of the art board to affect the underlying artwork by enlightening it. A new colour palette, typeface and word mark was introduced to complete the visual identity.
